New files don't show up in Finder (MacOS Yosemite)

New files don't show up in Finder (MacOS Yosemite)

Hi,
Since a few days, the files added by my colleagues in a shared folder don't show up in the Finder, unless I click the Dropbox icon in the menu bar and then the file name in the file list. It then immediately appears in the Finder...
Anyone having the same problem? Any idea how to fix it?
Thanks

Hey Christophe,

Do you see the files on dropbox.com?

Hi Ed,

Yes. I just ran a test: the file was synced 35 minutes ago, appeared on dropbox.com instantly, but is still invisible in the Finder.

Thanks Christophe - could you try updating your Dropbox client (https://www.dropbox.com/release_notes) and Yosemite to v2.10.52?

update: uninstall your Dropbox first, then you download the latest version to install it again.

Ed,
I'm already running v2.10.52 (I should have mentioned it).

Alright - thanks Christophe.

The Finder integration issue only affects Mac devices running OS X 10.10.0 (Yosemite). This does not affect users running OS X version 10.9.5 or lower. To fix this issue, Apple has released OS X Update 10.10.1.

Could you please check if you're using this version? To see which version you're running, follow these steps:

  1. Click on the Apple in the upper left corner of your screen.
  2. Choose About this Mac.
  3. Look for the Version.

If you're not on the 10.10.1, you can get this update for free in the Mac App Store.

(Details on how to update your device are available on Apple's support site: https://www.apple.com/osx/how-to-upgrade/)

Hope this helps!

Hi,
Any other idea?
Am I the only one reporting this issue?
Thanks.

I have the exact problem. On computer A, I deleted a few files and added a few new ones. On computer B, I still see the deleted files (although without the Dropbox checkmark icon. And I don't see the new files till I click the filename in the Dropbox app. Then, the file magically appears. I'm on 10.10.1 and I uninstalled and reinstalled Dropbox as suggested here. That didn't help.

Hi,
I upgraded to Dropbox 3.0.3 and it seems that the issue was fixed in the process.
