No option to "save as" after download - help please

New member | Level 2

When I download a file to save it under a different name, the file downloads, but I'm not able to select save as. The file downloads to my desktop (Mac actually), under it's original name. Then I have to open the file on my computer and rename it. Is this normal?

Hey @WenB, I think it is a Browser settings issue. Is your browser set to "Ask me everytime" for downloads, instead of a default location? For example, if you are using Safari, you will find the settings here:

Definitely a browser setting causing this issue, as Elixir said.

Downloading any file from the internet, including from Dropbox, will allow you to save it as a different name, unless your browser was configured in a different way.
