Not seeing "Dropbox" in file explorer

Not seeing "Dropbox" in file explorer

Dan1952
Explorer | Level 3

I have a current Dropbox account and use it regularly on my desktop (Windows 10).  When using file explorer on my desktop, Dropbox shows up in file explorer and from there I can add, delete, and open files.  I recently purchased a new laptop (Windows 10S) and installed the Dropbox app on it.  When I open the app, I am able to see all the files I have uploaded there.  However, Dropbox DOES NOT show up in file explorer on the laptop.  How can I fix this so it's the same as my dektop?

One more thing....the app on my laptop allows me to view my files and open them, but I cannot see a way to back up from this view.  Once I select a file, if I want to see another one, I have to close the app and re-open it.  Am I doing something wrong?

Hi @Dan1952, thanks for posting on the Community!

As it sounds like you're using Windows for S Mode, you've installed the Dropbox app for S Mode, which doesn't include a Dropbox folder in Explorer.

It won't be possible to install the Dropbox desktop application unless you convert your entire Windows OS away from S Mode, though bear in mind this is a one-way change.

Regarding leaving a file, there should be an X on the top left of the file allowing you to close the file are return to the list of files.

If you need any further assistance, please let me know!
