Offline status - when Dropbox is open, it shows the app is offline. Why is that?

Offline status - when Dropbox is open, it shows the app is offline. Why is that?

when i open dropbox on desktop and connect to internet it shows that the software is in offline status ,but when i disconnect internet the  prompt  disappear. i dont know why this happened,is there any problem with my understanding or its a bug? can you help me with this problem.thanks.

Hello there @fengguo, thanks for posting!

 

When you notice that the app shows it's "offline", can you please click the Dropbox icon in your menu bar/system tray, and let me know what the status shows there?

 

If there are any errors show in the sync status, please send a screenshot of this (excluding any personal info).

 

Keep me posted with your findings!

clipboard.png     the icon seems OK and upload function have no problem but cant edit Overview in app with offline status ,it gives me this.微信截图_20201103083837.png                         i use VPN to sync files, when i disconnect VPN,the internet still work but in a wall(China),in this situation,i can edit overview but cant sync. i dont know if this problem has any relation with VPN or not.thanks for your answer.

To be honest, we haven't seen any similar reports lately @fengguo.

 

Could you please translate the exact error you get for us please? 

 

While we're at it, could you see if it's caused by any antivirus, firewall in general or a VPN/proxy setting?
