Online-only upon installation is not working

Online-only upon installation is not working

Hi

I installed dropbox desktop app on a compatible windows device.

I selected online-only and it said that everything would be online initially.

I continued with the setup and in the end, dropbox still started downloading everything.

I have a 2nd device on which I successfully installed online only desktop app, and the sync took 10 minutes.

Since the 1st device has an even smaller dropbox, I would thing green ticks on folders, and 2 days to sync 600 GB is not Online-only.

I uninstalled, and reinstalled 3 times, but every time (ensuring my settings are exactly the same as the 2nd device with success online-only installation) the same happens and all my files begin to download.

Thank you in advance for your help!

Hi @MTFtrader, thanks for joining the Community!

If the Dropbox desktop application isn't using the Smart Sync option for online-only, try right clicking the Dropbox folder and marking it as online-only.

You can also change the settings in the Dropbox desktop application itself.

Keep me updated with any progress!
