For about 1 in 20 of the .docx files that I try to read in Dropbox on my iPad, I get the following error message: “This file can’t be previewed. To preview this file open it in your computer”
The file will often have used the same Microsoft word template as other files that can be read, the extension is the normal .docx and the file name has no unusual characters nor is noticeably longer than other file names. This problem started in the last year, and inhave been a frequent Dropbox user for 3 years or more. Anyone else have a similar issue?
A made a copy of the file (the one I couldn't preview) on my desktop, renamed it, and uploaded it to Dropbox. I was getting the same error message (unable to preview). Several hours later, I was able to preview the copied file. I'm not sure why I can view that one, but still not the original. Anyway, thanks for your prompt response and help. If it happens again, I'll be back.
