Problems accessing business account from file explorer (MS/Windows7)

New member | Level 2
New member | Level 2

I have been using a personal Dropbox account, with access to my Dropbox folder in my file explorer, with no issues. Today I have been set up as a business user using a Gmail account. I have linked the personal and business accounts in Dropbox but can still only see the files I have access to on my personal account. What do I need to do so that I can see all files in file explorer? I have tried reinstalling Dropbox on my laptop (Microsoft/Windows 7 user)

Hey there Liz - how are you today?

From what I understand you'd like to connect your personal and work Dropbox and access them both via the desktop app on your computer. To do so, please follow these steps:

  1. Log in to https://www.dropbox.com/ with your Dropbox Business account login.
  2. Click on your name in the top right corner.
  3. Click “Connect your personal Dropbox”.

You'll be asked if you already have a personal Dropbox account. If you do, please sign in to your account or if you don't, you'll be given the option to create a personal account.

Follow the instructions to download the Dropbox desktop application and start using both your personal and work accounts on your computer.

For any new employees that join your Dropbox Business account, they'll have the option to connect their personal and work Dropbox accounts while joining your team.

You can also use our Help Center article for a walkthrough on connecting your accounts:
