Problems with installing new version after changing machines

Problems with installing new version after changing machines

I migrated to a new Macbook Pro some time ago, but tonight is the first time I tried to use my Dropbox account since I migrated.

I attempted to install the latest version, but got error messages suggesting a permission problem and also asking me to change the name of the old Dropbox folder. I had to stop the install to do that, but made the change and tried to install again.

I'm still getting the permission error. What should I do?

I was able to resolve the issue by following instructions in another thread to completely uninstall Dropbox, followed by a new install.

Hey there @Eclectic, I'm sorry to hear you're having troubles with this!

So I can understand the exact error that you're getting, would you mind sending me a screenshot of the error that you see?

If there is a blue hyperlink for the full error log there, please click on this and copy/paste the full error message for me into your reply too.

Looking forward to hearing back from you!
