I recently started having a problem with Excel where frequent screen refresh (about every 4 seconds) was interfering with work. The same thing was happening in Word.

After many hours of troubleshooting, an online community suggested Dropbox as the cuprit. I uninstalled Dropbox and the probem was cured. I reinstalled it and the problem returned.

Windows 7, Office 2007

Thanks for any advice

I Have been having problems with this for two weeks on all office products launching from Dropbox on my laptop only, turned off the shield and still had problems, switched the desktop dropbox off on the laptop and now everything works.

Always been ok on my desktop?

So after having an online chat with the very helpful dropbox team, we established the problem was only stopped by turning the add ons off and closing dropbox desktop, when opening Office products.

The problem happend again while I was in the chat with Dropbox so highlighted it might be another process.

Looking at other forums some suggested uninstalling the Office Products and re installing, this time i installed 64bit version and everything works perfectly.

So ita a Microsoft issue as you have to go looking for the 64bit option as standard is 32 bit.

hope that might help some one, bloomig night mare the last two weeks

Just keep in mind that nearly all Office add-ons are 32-bit and usually will not work in the 64-bit version of Office. If you rely on any add-ons, you'll want to see if they're available in 64-bit.
