Release in installer for Ubuntu

Explorer | Level 3

I installed dropbox to Ubuntu Xenial by the Ubuntu (.deb) way given at dropbox.com

The generated /etc/apt/sources.list.d/dropbox.list file contains line

deb [arch=i386,amd64] http://linux.dropbox.com/ubuntu wily main

I am upset, as the correct release codename is xenial, not wily.

Is it ok, if I just edit the file and replace wily by xenial? Should I do so? Does it matter which release codename there is? Besides, as I am using a 64 bit release, is there any use of the i386 arch there in the debline? Could I just use [arch=amd64]?

Hey @Jarno S.,

Thanks for reaching out and letting us know about this.

This sounds very interesting in deed. I thinnk that for the time being the built package is the same across all distros and this doesn't actually have an impact on the system running it.

If you are sure you have downloaded the right installer from this page you should be fine installing this package normally.

Let me know if this helps!
