Hey there (@Billyjack555), thanks for the nudge! Just in order to determine the best course of action for you moving forward, could you explain what seems to be troubling you in a bit more detail, in order to ensure that I’m following-up on the right thing? Thanks in advance Billy!

Thanks, Jane. I have an Asus Q524UQ (i7-7500U running Windows 10 pro) and have the Dropbox application installed on my local hard drive.  When I open my Dropbox folder with windows explorer and right click on a file within that folder (or any other subfolders that I've created), the blue windows explorer arrow icon spins for a few seconds and windows explorer closes.  Dropbox is the only the folder where this happens; the right click function works for every other installed program that I've tested it on.

Hey @levijosman, thanks for the nudge; I’m wondering whether you’ve ruled out all other possible causes & established that this pertains to Dropbox. Please let me know if you worked on that on your end if possible & I’ll do my best to further advise!

Just fixed. Disabling smart sync and made all files local fixed the problem in both computers.

Hey @Pirocoptero, I was waiting to see whether you’d update the ticket, however it seems that disabling Smart Sync has done the trick for you! As you’ve now managed to fix that on your end, I’ve gone ahead & marked your last comment as the Best Answer, since it may be useful to other users reaching this conversation in the future with the same question.

Please feel free to ping us back on our Community in case you have any further inquiries & it’ll be a pleasure to work with you again. Happy Dropboxing & take care in the meantime!
