Run Dropbox from directory symbolic link

Explorer | Level 3

Hi. I try to run (not sync files) Dropbox.exe from directory symbolic link

and get error This application failed to start... DropboxError.png

Symbolic link was created with next command line:

mklink /D  Dropbox \\someserver\Shared\Dropbox\.

Is there some solution of this issue?

Dropbox ver. 59.4.93

Re: Run Dropbox from directory symbolic link

Initially, please bear in mind that, in gerenal, we strongly recommend against methods that add referenced files (such as symlinks), since using reference files can cause a number of issues.
However, could you try reinstalling the desktop app and see if that does the trick?
