Separating Dropbox files from my PC's directories

Separating Dropbox files from my PC's directories

I recently renewed activity on dropbox on the Basic program. I mistakenly accepted the feature that integrate files in my computer with dropbox. I don't want this. I want to be able to deal with files in dropbox separately from my computer. How do I extract/isolate dropbox from the rest of my computer?

How do I unsync all they synced files?  Do I have to uninstall drop box althogether or can I just undo the sync function?

Hi @Bill1941, thanks for messaging the Community!

Are you referring to the computer backup feature, which syncs system folders such as the Desktop, Documents or downloads folder to your account?

Are you instead looking to prevent your Dropbox account from syncing down to your computer using the desktop app?

This will help me assist further!

Yes. That's my issue. I want to unsync the sync feature.

I'm still not certain what you mean. If you no longer want the Dropbox desktop application to sync to your machine, you can unlink it using these steps.
