Hi Everyone,
I am a huge fan of Smart Sync and being able to have Online-Only files. I have been using it on Mac OSx for some time now. But I have been reading that from OS Catalina, Apple is deprecating Kernal Extentions (Kexts) which I suppose is what Dropbox uses to support Smart Sync. Will Dropbox be able to support Smart Sync in future versions of Mac OSx now that Kexts are done? What will they use instead to support these feature. I'm just a bit worried that I will have to start keeping a download of all my files locally, which is going to take up massive amounts of space of my computer.
Hi @bInTheVolta; welcome to our Community!
From what I gather, you must be referring to this resource from Apple about deprecated Kernel Extensions and system extension alternatives; correct?
As I wouldn't want to give you any false information, let me check back with the team on this and I will get back to you as soon as I have an update.
Let me know if you have any follow up questions in the meantime.

Exactly. Thanks Walter.
Hey @bInTheVolta; happy Friday!
So, I checked with the team internally and wanted to let you know that we are looking into upcoming KEXT changes and working on a solution to ensure Dropbox's features continue to work as expected.
I hope this helps and have a lovely weekend!
