Smart Sync still leaves files locally

New member | Level 2
New member | Level 2

I have very little space on my computer so I would prefer all files online but visible from my computer.

I have used smartsync but the dropbox files are still taking up space. I have tried deleting files but it also deletes them online.

Thank you!

Hey @naomisosa, welcome to the Dropbox Community.

I'd be more than happy to help, I'll just need a bit more info on this, such as:

  • What do you see when you right-click on a file or a folder that's online-only and select the Get info?
  • What does your Dropbox icon that's next to your computer's clock show when you click on it?

In the meantime, you can use selective sync, which removes folders from your hard drive to save space but keeps them in your account.

Keep me posted!
