files are not syncing to  all devices

Hey @proberts7, thanks for reaching out to us here!

So that we can narrow down the possible root cause for this issue, I have a few questions for you:

  • Which devices are you using (computers, mobiles or both)?
  • Do you see the files on one device and not another? If so, which?
  • What does the sync status of your desktop app (if any) show?

I have dropbox installed on my laptop, my iPad, and my Android phone. I can see all files on my laptop but I do not see all files on my iPad or Andriod Phone. I do not see a sync status being shown on my computer/

Thanks for the info @proberts7!

So it sounds like the data isn't being synced from your desktop to your account online.

If you're not able to see the Dropbox icon in the system tray/menu bar near your time display, then you will need to launch the desktop app on your device.

If the desktop app isn't running on your laptop then it won't be able to sync the changes that are made locally there to your other devices.

Have you launched through your start screen? If you are not seeing the small icon in the bottom right of your screen by the time, it might not be uploading automatically, or may be running an older version of Dropbox. Try opening dropbox from your start screen. Install the newest version and make sure it is pinned to your taskbar.

I have rsolved th issue with your help above. I did not have the ICON in the tray.Once set in th tray, syncing began and all files sync'd up ok. Thank-you for your help!!
