Syncing from non-default location

Syncing from non-default location

My new PC has an SS drive for the boot drive and then a larger standard WD drive for drive D. I had moved my default locations for everything to the D drive. Is there any way at all to get Dropbox to synch the D drive?

Hello there @AquaZR1 - thanks for using Dropbox and welcome to our Community!

You can move your Dropbox folder to your D drive as outlined here.

Let me know if you have any other questions!

I have moved Dropbox to the D drive already. The issue is it will not sync my folders as they are also on the D drive which is not the default location for them.

Yes, that's right. To be able to use the computer backup feature, you'll need to have those folders in their original locations at this time @AquaZR1

So my next question is, if I put those folders in the Dropbox folder would that work?

Would you like the content of those folders to be synced or backed up @AquaZR1?

I'm really looking to use Dropbox to backup the files.

In that case, you'll need to have those folders located in their default locations as the error you originally got implies @AquaZR1

I am also very disappointed that I cannot backup my documents folder which I purposely had set up in my W10 laptop in a 😧 drive.   I know feel that I made the wrong choice to purchase dropbox capacity.
