Syncing the Dropbox folder onto my Mac Finder

Syncing the Dropbox folder onto my Mac Finder

itaiboneh
Explorer | Level 3

I used to have dropbox synced into my finder sidebar, but I no longer have access to it for some reason.

I have the dropbox app downloaded and it is Version 98.4.158 (98.4.158) and my mac is running version 10.15.4,

Can you help me get dropbox back into my finder?

Thanks for getting back to me here @itaiboneh!

If you navigate to the top level Dropbox folder, then you can drag and drop the Dropbox folder itself into the sidebar favourites to restore it that way.

To locate the top level Dropbox folder, you can open your Finder, choose "Go" from the menu bar and choose "Home".

Let me know if that does the trick!

Hey @itaiboneh, I'm sorry to hear you're having issues with this!

If you've installed the desktop app then you should indeed have a Dropbox folder in your Finder.

Since the app is installed, you should have a Dropbox icon in your menu bar. Can you click this Dropbox icon, and from your "Recents" tab right click one of the files there and choose "View in Finder"?

Let me know how it goes!

I am able to do as you suggsted: dropbox from menu bar > recent tab > right click on a file and view in finder.

I can see the specific file/folder in my finder but I am still missing the dropbox option in the sidebar of finder.

When I click on finder in the menu bar > preferences > sidebar tab > I dont have an option of checkmarking dropbox (I actually dont even see it as an option there at all)
