The Dropbox desktop application keeps trying to update but doesn't do it

Dropbox on my windows 10 desk top keeps asking to update. when i agree it does not update but the update request continue

Hi there @norfolksparky, I hope you're having a good day so far!

 

Firstly, can you let me know which version of the desktop app you currently have installed?

 

If it's not our latest stable build (93.4.273), can you try manually downloading this from here and running the installer to see if that does the trick?

 

Let me know what you find!

Hi Daphne

drop box is on the latest version. strangely i am not getting the update request when i booted up pc this evening, i was though earlier today. this has happened before repeated requst to update and then it stops asking

It is strange indeed, do you maybe have another app on your device that might be interfering?

 

If you do notice the update pop up again, can you try installing directly from the website and let me know if the pop up persist if this happens again.

Hi 

I will try to remember to update you if it happens in the future. As for another app interfering I have no idea. I don’t understand the technicalities to be able to make a informed comment.

Okay, that's great @norfolksparky.

 

We can always look into another app possibly interfering together if you experience the same issue.

 

The easiest way to find out would be to quit programs running on your device on at a time until the issue is resolved.
