The desktop app is frozen, how can I force quit Dropbox?

New member | Level 2

I am in the proccess of copying a large amount of photos from Dropbox that have been synced to my computer onto a hard drive. My little drop-down window that allows me to access folder on Dropbox is frozen and I have the rainbow spinning wheel. Is there a way for force quit Dropbox? I attached a photo of the frozen window.Edited by moderatorEdited by moderator

Hey again @rubyef,

Can you try restarting the device, if you don’t see the app in the Force Quit list then it suggests that the app must have crashed and closed so is no longer running.

Once you restart the device, please let me know if you see any error messages at all or if the app is able to start syncing.

Thanks!

Hey there @rubyef,

If you’d like to force quit Dropbox then you can press Cmd+Opt+Esc, this combination will bring up the Force Quit menu for you. After quitting the app, you can then relaunch it from your Applications window.

Let me know how it goes - Cheers!
