Dropbox installer created two entries in my start menu, the second of which does nothing and has no folder icon. Screenshot 2021-11-19 143158.png

Hi all, thanks for your reports!

I've confirmed this is an issue on Windows 11. We've implemented a fix that will be included in the v138 release of Dropbox in the next few weeks.

Hey there @Trippap, thanks for flagging this with us.

Could you please let me know if this persists after rebooting your computer?

If it does, could you check if you're able to double click on the blank entry?

Thanks!

Exactly the same happens with me. Persists after rebooting
and nothing happens when double clicking.

What happens if you right click the first Dropbox mention with the folder on it? Are you able to click Properties after that?

In the shortcut with the icon, when right click appears:
- Pin to start
- More (Pin to taskbar; run as administrator; ***open file location***)
- Uninstall
Left click - opens dropbox folder

In the shortcut without icon appears:
- Pin to start
- More (Pin to taskbar; run as administrator; ***Settings***)
- Uninstall
Left click - nothing

The double entries persist after multiple restarts, and double-checking the second entry does nothing. When it first happened, I uninstalled and then reinstalled with same result.

Nothing happens when I right-click the Dropbox folder icon. Left-click opens the folder which contains two icons, one for the app and the other for the website.

When you uninstalled the app, did you perform an advanced reinstallation as per these steps?

Did advanced reinstallation, nothing changed.

Thanks for the info, in order to look into this matter in more detail, would it be possible to reach out to the email associated with your forum profile?
