After installing the latest stable version from the official Dropbox download page and trying to sign in, I get the message "You're using an old version of Dropbox. Please download the latest version at www.dropbox.com/downloading"
The latest stable version for Ubuntu is from 2015! Is Ubuntu no longer supported?
Sorry to hear about this @stanmab - here you go! This page includes all the installers of our latest stable build (53.4.67 at the moment).

If your desktop environment isn’t supported, you can use the Linux command line to control Dropbox. Also, Dropbox uses Qt 5.5, and as such needs the following software to work on desktop environments:

Unfortunately after using that installer I keep receiving the message "You're using an old version of Dropbox". Is compiling from source the only available method?

Hi Abianchetti,
Did you use this link: https://www.dropboxforum.com/t5/Desktop-client-builds/Stable-Build-53-4-67/m-p/284509#M4962
The official download page seems to be VERY outdated.

Hi Tomas,
I ended up using this one:
https://clientupdates.dropboxstatic.com/dbx-releng/client/dropbox-lnx.x86_64-59.4.93.tar.gz
Which I found replacing the las stable version number in the link you sent.
I wonder why they don't publish the current versions...
Thanks anyway!
Best
Arturo.
