Unable to log onto to dropbox website from one location (app is fine)

No one is able to log in to the dropbox website at one of our locations.  We can log in to the desktop app, but not to the website.  This is affecting multiple workstations, using multiple browsers (including chrome incognito tab/cookies cleared out) tried with different dropbox accounts.  We can log in fine from any other location.  No other website or application is affected by this.  The error message is "there was a problem completing this request".  This started happening a couple of days ago.

Any updates to virus scanners? Firewalls?

Thanks for the reply - No recent changes - I tried disabling firewall/AV protection but get the same error.

If it's everyone at the location, then it's likely that something on your local network is blocking Dropbox traffic. Perhaps a perimeter firewall or router. I would start by checking with your local IT staff and asking them to look into the problem.

Thanks for the reply - Unfortunately, I am the local IT Staff.  Further investigation has revealed that it does work from at least the server - So not affecting every machine.  And as I said the desktop app will log in on the clients OK - but any attempt to use the website login timeouts with the previously mentioned error message.

 

 

I have reviewed the perimeter firewall, and policies, but they check out OK - and have not changed recently.  I agree it is likely to be something at this site.

Router issue? Hub issue?

Check the times are correct on all of them

Also, make sure that any filtering software you use allows Dropbox.com etc.
