I have several Macs running Dropbox, only one has been updated to Mojave, and this machine now takes ages to start up and load Dropbox, the other machines are fine. is there a Dropbox upgrade I can download?

Thanks for the swift reply as well, @Conker

In general, the desktop app needs to perform a quick reindex whenever it’s restarted or paused/resumed to check if any files changed since it last run. This process may take longer when the process is competing with other services or apps that also begin to run when your computer initially starts.

One way to remedy this would be to delay the startup of the desktop app with a 3rd party app or script, although this would be outside our scope of support.

Alternatively, another option would be to reduce the overall load of the desktop app by choosing to selectively sync some folders that you no longer need on that device. You can find more info about selective sync here: https://www.dropbox.com/help/syncing-uploads/selective-sync-overview

Let me know if the issue persists and I’ll make sure to get back to you as soon as possible!

Hey there, @Conker

Could you please provide some additional info so as to ensure that I understand the behavior you're experiencing?

Are you seeing high CPU usage while the desktop app is running, or does it just launch slowly upon the device's startup? What does the Dropbox icon that's next to your desktop's clock read when you hover over it? Are you seeing any errors in the meantime as well? If so, a screenshot of this (omitting personal info) would be very helpful.

Thanks in advance!

Thanks for replying promptly. The slow speed is on startup, it takes ages to start and a long time syncing, even though little has happened overnight to need updating.

The Icon says 'starting' for a long time. Once working it seems fine. Other machines in the office are quicker to start up, as they are running older OS.

I have also noticed some other programs slow down since I updated to Mojave, especially a drawing program called Draftsight, my machine literally stops for 10 mins when I launch it, but if I try launching whilst Dropbox is starting, it takes about 20 minutes to load Draftsight.

I can't do a screenshot just yet. Thanks
