I discovered today, after changing from Iphone to Galaxy S20, that only the photos are syncing to my camera uploads. I have checked all the necessary questions, and there should not be anything hindering videos to sync.
Using the dropbox-app on the phone.
Any suggestions how to get my videos synced?
Hey @VikingLars, let's see what we can do here.
Could you walk me through all the steps that you've checked already?
Are the videos you're looking to upload to your Dropbox account placed in your Camera Roll?
Let me know what you find and we'll take it from there, thanks!
Hello. The videos are in my Samsung Galaxy S20 "Gallery".
As mentioned, if I take a video with the camera on the phone, the video is synced to camera upload.
If I take a video with Snaphat, the video is not uploaded.
I did a test with Messenger, and that video was also not uploaded.
Any videos placed in your mobile's Camera Roll will be uploaded to your Dropbox Camera Uploads folder.
However, any photos or videos outside of that folder won't automatically be added.
Instead, you'll have to manually add them.
Could you try that out and let me know if it does the trick?
Yes, it works when I manually move the snaps to the camera-folder.
But, this makes things more complicated. I installed Onedrive now, and I see that Onedrive fixes this by itself.
Will you be able to fix this for later also for Dropbox?
Although I can't give a specific timeline, you can check out this thread, where other users have proposed such a feature.
There, you can comment and upvote alongside like-minded users.
Check it out and let me know if you have any other questions, cheers!
I will follow your advice, thanks.
An issue, when I copy or move my videoes to the camera-folder on my phone (which works, it syncs to dropbox), is that the date is adjusted to the current date.
This means that all me videos since September are all dated yesterday.
Hope the issue can be fixed.
Just to make sure, is the date adjusted in your Camera Roll folder as well?
Thanks for clarifying that @VikingLars.
In this case, since the timestamp is being changed by the device when you move the files, there's not much I could suggest here I'm afraid as this would be out of Dropbox's control.
While there's not much I could suggest to prevent that from occurring, your thread here will remain open in case anyone has any suggestions or third party app recommendations in order to achieve this.
Sorry that I can't be of much more help with this, but please let me know if you have any questions!
