Re: Warning before removing a file from Dropbox

Warning before removing a file from Dropbox

Until recently dropbox warned me before I relocated a file outside my dropbox folder. I appreciated the safety this gave me. Recently I do not get a warning before doing this and I would like to reactivate this feature but don't see how I can manage this.

In that case, you can reset your system warnings through the app's preferences.

Just navigate to the Account tab and press Alt+H. Then, click on the 'Reset File System Warning options' button and click 'Apply' and 'OK'.

You may need to reboot your computer for those changes to take effect.

Let us know how it goes @Glenn R!

Hi @Glenn R,

Is it possible that you might have checked the "don't ask me again" box on the warning, when trying to delete a file or move it out of Dropbox?

Also, are you using a Windows or a Mac computer?

Let me know and we'll work on this together!

Hi Hannah

Thanks for replying to my question. I did check that box because when I was reorganising my files it had been asking if I was sure I wanted to remove files permanently from dropbox at least ten times in a row (I was removing quite some folders) and I thought I could undo this easily which was not the case, hence my question. I use Windows 10.
