Weird behavior when connecting Dropbox web with external app

Weird behavior when connecting Dropbox web with external app

Hi,

I am unsure if this is the right category for my question.

I noticed that while connecting a third party app like Cloudsfer or MultCloud to Dropbox using Chrome or Firefox, when the Dropbox oauth consent window (as on the screenshot below) loses and regains focus, e.g. by changing browser tabs or clicking Learn More, the Allow and Cancel buttons are temporarily disabled and become clickable after a second or so. I haven't observed such behavior before. Is this some new security feature or a bug? I often use cloud migration services to move files in and out of my Dropbox, so I just want to make sure that everything is alright and that my data is safe.

Thanks!

Hi @iron_horse, thanks for posting today!

It looks like this is the normal interface to add a third party service to connect to Dropbox. If you're experiencing issues with this page, could you try switching browsers to see if this helps?

Otherwise, use incognito/private browsing mode without any extensions running, clearing your cache and even resetting your browser entirely.

If successful, the app should appear on this page on your account.

Let me know how it goes!

Hi Jay,

Thanks for your reply! I have captured a short video to better illustrate the button disabling behavior that I am talking about. I tested this on Firefox and Chrome on 2 different laptops running Linux and MacOS. I haven't noticed this happening before. Do you know if this screen was always supposed to behave like this or is this some recent change or bug?

Hey @iron_horse, thanks for the additional information.

Could you let us know if you get the same behavior if you do this via an incognito window?

Also, have you tried connecting the app from the App Center?

Let us know what you find, cheers!
