When installing the Dropbox app it uploaded my computer's files, how can I stop this?

Explorer | Level 3

I am a new user. When I installed Dropbox, the first thing it did was to scramble my desktop, change some of the shortcut icons, and upload some files. I did not want any of this. I need to choose what gets uploaded, primarily for sharing purposes. I also need to clean uo the icons it scrambled and to get the desktop in order. Help!

Hello @pahili, thanks for reaching out to us here!

It seems that you enabled the computer backup feature when installing the desktop app on your computer.

To disable the backup, please follow the steps outlined towards the bottom of this article. Once this is done, you can move the contents of the backup folder in Dropbox back to their original locations on your computer.

I hope this helps, let me know how it goes!
