Why can't my desktop app start on my computer?

Dropbox worked fine on my old iMac. I now have a new iMac and Dropbox will not start. I get the spinning blue circle and it says "Starting" but after a few hours it has still not started.

Reinstalled Dropbox and it seems to be working now.
