When Dropbox requested to add a computer to my account; Does it need to be a computer that I use regularly? Does it actualy need to be my personal computer or can it be someone elses? Does it need to be around my iPhone when the iPhone uploads photos? Can I use a computer that someone else has already linked to their Dropbox account (essentally linking two Dropbox accounts to one computer)? What is the purpose for adding the computer to my Dropbox account?
You just need your account linked to a computer. It doesn't matter which computer, where it's located or who it belongs to. Camera Uploads will only work for Basic accounts when you have a computer linked to your account.
Hello @MarDragon, you don't need to add a computer in order to use Dropbox from iPhone, or upload files and photos from iPhone. Are you trying to setup Automatic Camera Uploads? You should be able to do that from the Account tab > Camera Uploads.
Thanks so much for the response! Perhaps I should be able to connect in that way although when I go into my account and sellect the "Camera Uploads" (which shows "off"), I am given two options: One is to "Upgrade Now" and the other is "Connect a Computer" I'm not given the option to just switch "On" the Camera Uploads"
In my case, I can toggle the ON/OFF button. Do you have sufficient Dropbox space to upload all your photos?
I don't know. How can I check that?
In the account tab, you will see Space Used.
Thanks so much! It shows only 0.1% if 2 GB There are no current files or folders added. It's basicly a new clean account.
Can you please try quiting the app first, and later restarting your phone and relaunching the app?
Sure!
I've closed the app and shut down the phone. I then reopened the phone, opened the app and all is the same.
