Why is the DropboxMacUpdate process being recreated daily?

Why does DropboxMacUpdate need to be recreated on almost a daily basis? This is very anoying and I want it to stop.

Somehow my Dropbox was on a Beta, had v. 22.3.22. Yesterday, installed v. 21.4.25 and today no new notifications of DropboxMacUpdate. Am hopefull DropBox will not have so many updates.

Good call, let me give you a couple more steps to follow: 

 

Can you please go to your account's "Settings", scroll down a bit and find "Preferences"? 

Under Dropbox settings, you'll have to unchech the "Include me on early releases" box. 

 

After this point, you will not update to early testing versions.

We're not using a beta, we are using 21.4.25, and it is trying to update more than once a day. This didn't happen until this week. Where can we adjust the update check interval?

So the next release should fix that bug, absolutely!

My Little Snitch is going crazy with that "DropboxMacUpdate". Pops up any half an hour and it really sucks.

DropboxMacUpdate consumes 200%+ CPU when running, and today morning it already happened twice!

To disable for good:

sudo chmod 000 ~/Library/Dropbox/DropboxMacUpdate.app/Contents/MacOS/DropboxMacUpdate
