Windows Explorer crashes in the DB folder if there are images

Windows Explorer crashes in the DB folder if there are images

I seem to have an issue with Explorer crashing/resetting if I open a DB folder that has an image in it.  It seems like when windows defaults the view to 'Large Icons' and then craps out when trying to generate the thumbnail.

This only happens in the Dropbox folder.  I have all files synced locally (not smart sync) and I can duplicate this across systems.

Any ideas?

Hi @TheKingInYellow, thanks for posting on the Community today!

Are you experiencing this same behavior when you quit the Dropbox desktop application and then access the Dropbox folder?

What happens if the view is on small icons, or another view?

Keep me updated with any progress!

Other views are fine, it only seems to happen when it needs to render the preview image first.

I just checked with the desktop app closed and it seems to work then.

Are you experiencing this in all folders in your Dropbox folder, or just specific folders with images?

Could you try these steps to fix the hardlinks and permissions and let me know how it goes?
