I have a little red exclamation mark by my Dropbox icon.  When I open it up, I have a message that Dropbox couldn't upload a file:  Windows 10 Pro.dbx-external-drive.  This file is in my Dropbox root directory and my Dropbox files are all on my 😧 drive.  And this file is 0 bytes in size.  Looks like the file name format meets the requirements.  Any ideas?  Can the file be deleted?

Have you tried deleting the file on your end?

Also, what's the status of your Dropbox desktop application?

Can you clarify if this is a file, or if you've accidentally enabled the backup for an external drive of yours?

Thank you for your reply.  It is a zero bytes long file that appeared on my Windows 10 PC. I could have accidentally enabled a cloud drive but I sure didn’t mean to.  Where would I look to see if I did?  Seems like everyone has a cloud drive!  Is there a Dropbox cloud drive?

Also, is the individual file inside your Dropbox folder?

Just using cloud meaning anyone of the bunch of choices you have. The file is in my Dropbox root directory. I’m on my iPhone and when I get to my PC I’ll send some screenshots.

Deleting the file got rid of the error and that’s good enough for me. Just had hoped someone would have known why the file all of a sudden appeared. Thanks.
