desktop icons gone

desktop icons gone

I had to unlink my PC from dropbox yesterday as one large video file wouldn't transfer.

I relink my PC straight afterwards and everything was coming back to normal.

I turn on my computer this morning and almost every desktop icon is gone?

I've restarted my PC 3 times, no luck.

Help!

Hi Hannah,

thanks for reaching out.

I've worked it out - it had to do with the 'fabulous' new function desktop back-up or whatever it's called.

It's not nice the way you guys have implemented this!

Dropbox should NEVER have the authority to change something on my c-drive, you are an App.

This back-up also makes you go over you allowance limit, resulting in Dropbox selling more space in the Cloud $$$$

You can retrieve your desktop from 'Deleted Files' and get everything back, but it is a pain and it should never got to this point.

Greedy and cheeky!

Hey @Dart74, thanks for posting on our Community today!

Would you mind giving me a bit more info on which icons are gone?

Do you mean that your desktop files are gone or actual icons on your desktop, like app/program shortcuts etc.?

Any extra info you can provide or screenshots, would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!
