I downloaded Dropbox app to desktop. Now all my files are gone. I've been sharing on a project and can't finish HELP!

As a first step, could you please ensure that you’ve signed in to the same account as the one that contains the relevant files? 
 
Since each Dropbox account is associated with one email address, please have a look at the email that you’ve used to sign in on your desktop app and make sure it’s the same throughout all your platforms. 
 
You can do this by navigating to:
If you find that it’s the same account, please check your events page for any changes that happened in your account, as well as your deleted files tab
