installer could not connect to the internet

installer could not connect to the internet

I received a notice that I need an update to dropbox. I was able to download the installer, but it says the installer cannot connect to the internet.

My internet access is fine and working for everything else. I deactivated all anti-virus, anti-malware, turned off all firewall, still the same.

I'm able to browse to the Dropbox website; I can use current version of dropbox without any issue; I have tried a different network conenctions, still the same. I understand that something on my computer (which I'm not aware of) is blocking Dropbox.

My BIG question is - is there a way to upgrade this version of Dropbox without using the installer? Is there a place I can directly download the full version and install Dropbox to my PC? I'm using Windows 7 by the way.

I have never tested this, but you could give this a try:
