one time update hangs and sync didn't work for already 6 days

Hello,

I had a week vacation and today I noticed at work that all my work done during the vacation didn't sync over to my work machine.

According to the recent activity pane/panel the last files that were synced was 6 days ago.

The client has the sync icon altho when you hover it it tells me that one time update is busy.

The early updates was OFF in the web console and I tried to run the latest update after checking the updates setting but it still hangs.

Maybe it's doing something but I can't tell from the UI nor from the inaccessible log files under C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Dropbox\Logs

I noticed that several people are having the same issue.

Can anyone explain what this "one time update" exactly is?

Is it a new way of indexing that needs to rebuild everything?

My folder is about 8Gb so nearly a week should've been enough but apparently it's still stuck at it.

I'm using dropbox 84.4.170 on both machines and only one of them has issues (win

while the other one (win10) is up to date

Any advice?

typical... right after my post I noticed it changed status to Synchronizing.

It didn't change at all the entire afternoon.

maybe running the update installer fixed something (reinstall of the service?).

for the moment I don't see anthing being added altho I see some changes of the free space counter of my drive.

I'll keep an eye on it and report later the result

It didn't change at all the entire afternoon.

maybe running the update installer fixed something (reinstall of the service?).

I confirm that the sync completed and that I can see the missing files now on the second computer.

It seems that an update of the client got stuck somehow.

So what did you do exactly to get it unstuck?  I am having this same issue.

Hi @DrEntropy; are you still having issues with this?

If so, could you send me the exact status of the desktop app as shown within your computer's system tray/menu bar so I can have a better look into this?

Oh I fixed it by just downloading the app and reinstalling.  This is the second time this has happened to me, both times after the comptuer was offline for an extended period of time.   Thanks though!
