Dropbox status icon on mac menu bar always shows up as grey with a cross. Files are synced and up to date. I tried to uninstall and install dropbox and still the same. Please help. Thank you.

I resolved the icon issue by deleting one of the file at my work's computer. status icon now shows up correctly.

Do you by any chance having any pending OS updates on your computer?
Also, could you check if you have the beta version of the Dropbox desktop app?
You can do that by hovering over the Dropbox icon that's on your menu bar.

My dropbox version is 112.3.293 and OS is Big Sur version 11.1 All are up to date.
I figured out today the issue probably related to the business account. If I signed out of personal & business accounts and uninstall dropbox, reintall and start up with only personal account, the menu bar icon is working fine. It becomes a disconnected icon once i added my business account.
I resolved the icon issue by deleting one of the file at my work's computer. status icon now shows up correctly.
