suddenly not synching; DB icon not visible

Hi,

Suddenly, my laptop isn't synching to Dropbox and the DB icon has disappeared from my top menu bar. It's a Mac running iOS 10.something (El Capitan). It was working fine until a few days ago.

 

I checked and my personal admin page says the computer is linked. 

 

What can I do?

If the icon isn't visible, Dropbox isn't running. Have you tried to launch the application again? Or reinstalled it? You can reinstall over the existing copy without affecting your files.

Thanks -- I'll try that. Will have to wait until tonight though.

Hello & thanks for asking.

 

Yes, reinstalling the application worked. 

 

However, it's weird that it suddenly just stopped working.

The Dropbox application will automatically update itself. If one of those updates failed, it may have left the application unable to launch.

Or just the computer being mysterious as always…
