Hi there, since you’ve mentioned the Windows tile, are you certain you’re installing the Dropbox desktop application from the Dropbox site, or the Windows mobile app instead, which also appears as a tile?

Jay, I am installing from the dropbox website, not the Windows mobile app.

Just for clarification, you’re referring to the tile in the Windows start menu?

If the app is installed, do you see the Dropbox icon in the system tray near the clock? If so, can you click it and see the current status of the syncing process?

Jay, yes the tile in the start menu, the dropbox icon in the system tray does not appear. I have used dropbox for many years now on a range of laptops and desktop machines. This is the first time I have ever had any issues with trying to get it running.

Generally, you don’t need to open the Dropbox desktop application via the tile in the start menu, unless you’re opening the mobile app version.

Could you doublecheck once more that you’ve followed all the steps for an advanced reinstall, and if the issue persists, would it be okay if we message you directly at the email associated with your forum profile?

Thanks in advance!

Same issue on my side with an Elitebook running on Windows 10. What was the resolution for this?

Hi @acaceda, have you laready tried all the previous steps in this thread?

Could you let me know exactly what is happening with the app itself and when you noticed this issue?

Thanks in advance!
