Just to make sure that I have a better understanding of your concern, could you clarify where they're not seeing the updated files on? Is it when they're using the website, the desktop app, or the mobile app?

When she opens her desktop Dropbox app her files are not the most updated versions, but everyone else in the office has the latest version. She has tried synching the files and our IT department worked on it for a bit, but whatever they did didn't help.

Do they see the updated versions of the files via the website?
Also, could you confirm for me what they see when they hover over the Dropbox icon that's next to their computer's clock?
When she goes through the website, the updated files are there! When she hovers over the dropbox icon near the clock it says "Can't establish a secure internet connection" - (all of ours say that)
In this case, I'd recommend having a look at this article so that they can check if any of these apply.
