Convert Team Folder into Shared Folder / Move items from Team to Shared

Convert Team Folder into Shared Folder / Move items from Team to Shared

I don't want to use the Team Folder anymore. I'm trying to move all the files from the Team Folder to a Shared Folder in the Files section, but I'm denied, despite being the owner/admin of the account. Also, this particular Team Folder doesn't show up in the "Files" section, only in the Team Section, so other posts I've found talking about "just use the Files section to move things" doesn't work.

Can someone help?

There must be a conflict with the sharing settings of this folder somehow so in this case, I'd suggest copying the folder's content to another folder and then sharing that instead @MStoGo.

From there, you can also leave the free team to go back to an individual account and use only shared folders moving forward.

In any case, please let me know how you get on.

Hi @MStoGo; welcome to our Community!

I'll be happy to look into this, but I'll need some additional information first.

1. What plan and account are you on?

2. What is the exact wording of the error you get? Can you send me a screenshot?

3. If you have the desktop app installed on your computer, have you tried doing it from there?

Let me know what you find!

1. Dropbox Plus, right now, though it may have been bigger, before. (I'm assisting the account owner, so I don't have the full history on all he's paid for.)

2. "Couldn’t move 1 item."

3. Yes.

Thanks for the follow up details @MStoGo!

So, the account you're looking at is on an individual Dropbox Plus subscription and part of a free team; probably after downgrading from a Dropbox for Business teams plan or trial.

Can you send me a screenshot of those errors so I can have a further look into this please?

First image if using the dropbox app on my mac, the second is from the browser. Clicking "Learn More" just sends me to an article on how to manage team folders.

Is there a way to mass unshare EVERYTHING in a particular folder?
