Hi There,

I am a contractor who works with various businesses from time to time.  I need to link with a new employer’s Business Account but have found my Personal Account is tied to an old employer who is actually no longer trading or contactable.  I have tried everything to u hitch myself but it doesn’t seem possible.  I have no access to the old Business email or anything else to do with them.  Any advice on how I can change Business accounts would be appreciate as the new employee is getting frustrated I’m not joining in with the new team !   Thanks

Try goinb to https://www.dropbox.com/account/general and under Connected Accounts tap disconnect

I am not sure there is anyway to do so - the request to remove you has to come from the Business. 

 

You could see if support can help at www.dropbox.com/support

Is there a way to email Dropbox Support ?   The support page link only gives the option of the Chatbot or Forum.  Ans it seems neither of those can help . ..

You will need to log in and use the Business account OR use an incognito window and select the options for Account and Payment issues.

Just to stress my original point - the Business went bust!   There is no one there to contact as it no longer exists.  The option of sorting this 'through the Business' simply does not exist!  Can you explain what you mean by 'Use an Incognito Window'?   I am not a Dropbox expert so please try to look at this from my point of view . .. .  Thanks

There is no "connected account", or disconnect button, anything under general that would allow me to disconnect two accounts.  Why does dropbox post instructions that simply don't apply to the real world?  And, I wanted to use my "username" here but it wouldn't let me, saying I had to create a "new" user name.  What sense does that make???

They don't want to talk to customers.  Only if you want to buy something from them will they respond.  I've tried over and over again to speak with technical support about a simple question on "Space"., "Sharing" and "unlinking" accounts and do you think they would respond or offer any help.  NO WAY!
