Does Dropbox Business require a commercial Office 365 subscription?

New member | Level 2

Hi all

I am trying to edit documents stored in my work's dropbox business account using microsoft word. Apparently I need a commercial office 365 subscription for this, however, I am confused because on another laptop it seems to work just fine with a personal office 365 subscription.

Is there a way I can edit word documents stored on dropbox using a personal office 365 subscriopion?

Google docs is not an option, nor is downloading the document to word (the formatting changes).

Thank you in advance for any help!

Hey there @gwenthegwen, welcome to the Dropbox Community!

If you have a Dropbox Business account, you'll need an enterprise Microsoft account with a license that allows editing in Office Online (Business, Business Premium, ProPlus, E3, E4, or E5).

You can find more relevant info about this, here

Let me know if this helps or if you have any other questions, thanks!
