I am in the trial stage of the business standard plan and the only option available to open Excel files is Excel online.
When opening the file I do get the message to cancel the action and open in Excel to edit but the option is not available and the file will only open in Excel online.
I'm new to Dropbox and looking for a storage option that will replace OneDrive and allow our team members to create and edit all excel sheets exclusively from the cloud for our companies bidding process.
Any info is appreciated.

Thanks for the quick reply. I did not have the file the stored on my computer. After downloading the file it works great. Have a great day!
Is the Excel file stored on your computer? Do you have the Dropbox client installed on your computer and is it running?
If the answer to either of those is no, then you can't open the file in Excel directly from Dropbox. You'll need to download the file first, then you'll be able to open it in Excel, edit, save and reupload.
