Move from Dropbox Business to new plans.

Move from Dropbox Business to new plans.

New member | Level 2

Slightly confused with the new plans for dropbox for business.

What functionality are we looking to lose moving from the current Dropbox Business account to a Dropbox Business Standard account?

Many thanks.

Hey Cetsat

Thanks for getting in touch on the Dropbox Community, welcome aboard!

Just as a quick point of reference, as per our plans page, please keep in mind that the new Dropbox Standard plans doesn’t have the features of Phone support, Tiered admin roles, Sign in as user, Audit logs with file event tracking, Single sign-on (SSO) integrations and Invite enforcement.

Also, the new Dropbox Standard plan comes with 2TB regardless of the amount of users/ licenses.

If you need more details about it, just let me know in your reply!

Kind regards,
JaneA

I'm no expert but...

It seems you lose the unlimited (assuming you had at least 5 users)
So the now cap you at 2GB TOTAL
No matter how many users you have
So yes, if you have 20 users you have to divide the 2GB amongst everyone

Yes that is crazy!!! And so unfair

You lose phone support.

You lose certain admin functions

It's a lose lose all around

To keep what you have you have to pay 60% more

That's basically what it comes down to , yep, yep. Not good at all.

Very important to clarify that it is 2TB, not 2GB.
Standard- Typically best suited for smaller team with basic admin controls, 2TB shared storage, live chat support and team folders/groups for better collaborations.

Advanced- Offers a more advanced admin console with sign-in as user capabilities, detailed activity log, and tiered admin controls. Also offers uncapped storage and live phone support.

Both offer the new Smart Sync.
Existing Business customers from before the division in plans can stay there until their 2018 renewal.
