Team admin has exited and did not assign any other admins

I am the IT manager for my organization and the DropBox team admin left the organization this morning.  I have since discovered that he had not assigned anyone else on the team an admin role.  To make matters worse, the team admin account is associated with his personal email, and not his company email.

I'm hoping someone from support will see this and help me get one of the other team members assigned as an admin.

Hi @JNelson; welcome to the Community and sorry to hear about this.

Cases like this are one of the main reasons we always recommend having a minimum of 2 admins on every Dropbox Business account.

If there's only one admin on your team, the easiest way to appoint a new admin is to contact the current admin directly.

In case don't know who the admin on your team or their exact email address is, you can find out here:

Once you found out who the admin is, you can contact them and let them know that they can make someone else on your team an admin by following the steps below:

  1. Log in to https://www.dropbox.com/team/admin
  2. Click the gear to the right of the member you'd like to turn into an admin and select "Add admin permissions" from the menu.

Once you're also an admin on the account, you'll be able remove the other person as an admin if you choose to do so by following these steps:

  1. Log in to https://www.dropbox.com/team/admin
  2. Click the gear to the right of the member you'd like to remove as an admin and select "Remove admin permissions" from the menu.

I hope this helps!
