University asks to merge personal and Team account

University asks to merge personal and Team account

New member | Level 2

My University offered to join their Dropbox Team for a discounted price. I agreed, and they asked for my personal dropbox email (I'm currently on Plus) so they could send me an invitation. Once I recieved the invitation, they asked me to merge my files. What are the consequences of that? Would the admin be able to see my files?

Yes they would - your personal account (and your payment towards Plus) would all be given to the University. So they would administrate it like they would any files on their network.

I suggest setting up a second account and getting THAT one moved to the University account and then you have two - one for uni they can see/access etc. and your own private one.
