Why have my computers slowed down ever since I started using Smart Sync?

Why have my computers slowed down ever since I started using Smart Sync?

Explorer | Level 3

Ever since I downloaded SmartSync all of my computers have slowed dramatically.  I though by freeing up memory it would speed things up, but the exact opposite is happening.  It's extremely frustrating as I have to enter patient notes and am waiting and waiting and waiting for their file to come up, then it takes forever to save it.  Help please!

If you mouse over the Dropbox icon on the status bar what does it say?

I just wanted to add to what @Mark mentioned and recommend having a look through this article which talks about factors that may cause high memory (RAM) or high CPU usage
