read-only reading rights

read-only reading rights

Hi all,

I would like to know if there is a way to prevent a read-only user in a Dropbox shared folder from:

  • Generating a link that can be share to anyone to access the Dropbox or a specific file
  • Access to the history of the modifications

I am the administrator of the Dropbox out of information

Moreover, I would like to know if there is a way the administrator of the Dropbox can see which files have been opened and/or downloaded

Thank you very much for your help

Hi @akrft, thanks for posting on the Community!

There are options when creating shared folders to prevent any members from generating links to the folder.

Version history would still be accessible, however, read-only users would not be able to restore older versions.

Lastly, the activity log on a Dropbox Business Advanced plan allows the admin to see if files have been accessed.

Hope this helps to clarify matters!
